The Bradford Factor measures how disruptive frequent short absences are to an organization.
It focuses on multiple absence spells over a 12-month rolling period, rather than long single absences (e.g., flu or dengue). It helps identify habitual absenteeism.
Formula:
Bradford Factor = S × S × D
S = Number of absence spells
D = Total days absent
It can be applied to any leave type (not just medical leave) when creating a leave type.
