To set up the 9 box metrics feature, the initial step would be to configure the 9 box matrix by navigating from Career development -> Configuration -> 9 box matrix
In this section, you can add the potential assessment question and the answers that need to be shown as options under the questions in the appraisal forms.
Step 1 – Facilitate the 9-box matrix by ticking off the “Enable 9-Box Matrix” checkbox. Upon enabling, the feature becomes accessible to the user.
Step 2: If the HR admin wants to enable the potential assessment question for the employees, Tick off the checkbox "Show Potential Assessment Section to the Employee Being Evaluated' in the appraisals" option.
9 Box Potential Category Answer Options section has been categorized into three criteria “Low, Medium, and High”, where users can enter the answers as options for the potential questions.

This option is given to underperformed employees based on their work performance. Ex: Limited to the current role only or possible bad fit |
Medium |
This option is given that the employee's work is up to considerate standards but needs improvements based on their work performance. Ex: Good fit at the current level, lateral move, or upward 1 level |
High |
This option is given that the employee's work is over the top based on their work performance. Ex: Highly capable to attain higher roles, the upward mobility of more than 1 level |
Enter the answers for each option and save the process.
Step 2 - During the appraisal review, this question is displayed under each appraisal in both multiple and single views. Based on the answer given the potential rating is calculated.
