Competency is the ability to do something successfully or efficiently. Competencies vary from one employee to another. Some employees may excel in certain competencies over others. Similarly, some employees may be weaker at certain competencies than others. Also, some employees can develop competencies over time while others have in-built competencies. It is a supervisor's duty to define and promote new competencies or enhance existing competencies among his/her subordinates. In an appraisal, supervisors tend to use these competencies as an indicator to help measure the performance of an employee.
The common challenge for most managers is that their existing systems are not capable of providing an overview of the competency ratings provided by different evaluators. With OrangeHRM, users can now get a graphical overview of the ratings provided by different evaluators across different competencies. The Admin can view and compare the competency scores given by all evaluators for a particular employee appraisal.
Go to Reports and Analytics->Performance Profile. This will trigger the following screen:
Step 1: Complete the following fields to generate the graphical illustration.
Fields | Description |
Employee Name | The preferred employee name for whom the diagram should be generated. |
Evaluator Group |
Select the preferred evaluator group you wish to derive the competency rating from. The user can choose the following options from the dropdown list:

Appraisal Name | Choose from the pre-defined appraisal names available in the dropdown list. |
Competency | Choose from the pre-defined competencies available in the dropdown list. |
Goal | Choose from the pre-defined goals available in the dropdown list. |
Appraisal Period | Define a specific period for which the diagram should be generated. |
Step 2: Click 'Search' after defining the above fields. Upon clicking 'Search' the following diagram is generated within the 'Performance Profile' screen.
