Multi-factor authentication refers to the process of improving the security of systems and accounts by requiring more than one form of verification to gain access. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) involves the use of two or more independent credentials to verify a user’s identity for login or other transactions. This method adds additional layers of security, making it much harder for unauthorized users to gain access even if they have one of the required credentials. This additional security step is now available for OrangeHRM users to protect the user's personal and professional data.
To enable this feature, We have given the System Admin the capability to Enable Two-factor authentication for specific user accounts, with the availability to make Two-factor authentication required for the selected user role.
System admins also have the ability to allow Admins to reset the Two-factor authentication for other user roles.
When the system admin turns on Two-factor authentication (2FA) for certain users, those users will need to set it up. They can choose to do it now or later. If they do it now, they'll be required to use an app such as Google Authenticator. If 2FA is required, they can't skip this step. It helps keep their accounts safe.
The recent update to OrangeHRM focuses on enabling email notifications to date-based custom fields, ensuring timely communication, and improving user experience, such as membership expirations.
For example, if a membership ends in five days, the system will automatically send an email reminder based on the date added to the field. This helps employees stay organized and meet deadlines. Overall, it makes work easier and more efficient for everyone.
The system is now available to send date-based email notifications for custom date fields that are created in the system that are required to be enabled through the backend configurations.
