Competency is the ability to do something successfully or efficiently. Competencies vary from one employee to another. Some employees may excel in certain competencies than others. Similarly, some employees may be weaker at certain competencies than others. Also, some employees tend to develop competencies over time whereas some have in-built competencies. It is a supervisor's duty to build new competencies or enhance existing competencies among his / her subordinates. In an appraisal, supervisors tend to use these competencies as an indicator to measure the performance of an employee.
The common problem for most managers is that their existing systems are not capable of providing an overview of the ratings for competencies provided by different evaluators. With OrangeHRM, users can now get a graphical overview of the ratings provided by different evaluators for different competencies. The Admin can view and compare the competency scores given by all evaluators to a particular employee appraisal.
Go to Performance -> Reports ->Performance Profile. Upon following this path the below screen is triggered.
Step 1: Complete the following fields to generate the graphical illustration.
Fields | Description |
Employee Name | The preferred employee name for which the diagram should be generated for. |
Evaluator Group |
Select the preferred evaluator group from which the user wants the competency rating from. The user can choose the following from the dropdown:

Appraisal Name | Choose from the pre-defined appraisal names available in the dropdown. |
Competency | Choose from the pre-defined competencies available in the dropdown. |
Goal | Choose from the pre-defined competencies available in the dropdown. |
Appraisal Period | Define a specific period for which the diagram should be generated for. |
Step 2: Click 'Search' after defining the above fields. Upon clicking 'Search' the following diagram is made visible within the 'Performance Profile' screen.
