A password is a security mechanism that consists of a passphrase created using Alphabetic, Numeric, Alphanumeric, Symbolic characters, or a combination of two or more of the said formats. It is used to restrict access to a System, Application, or Service to those who are authorized to use it. To prevent unauthorized access OrangeHRM is coded to provide system-guided instructions on creating a secure password.
Login to OrangeHRM using your Admin credentials and go to Admin > User Management > Users
Change the Password of the User as an Admin
Step 1 - From the list of Users in the system, find the User Account in which you want to change the password.
Step 2 - Once you find the user, click on the pencil icon next to it, and a pop up will appear.
Step 3 - On this pop-up window, select the checkbox before 'Change Password' as shown below.
Step 4 - Proceed to enter the new password in the fields 'Password*' and 'Confirm Password*'. Please make sure that these new passwords adhere to OrangeHRM's Password Policy. Once you're done, click on the 'SAVE' button to proceed with the password change.
Step 5 - The User can then proceed to use this newly changed password to log in. It is highly recommended to change the password upon logging in.
Change the Password as the User
Step 1 - Click on the "Change Password" option from the list of options available on the above screen. Upon clicking on that screen the following screen appears.
Step 2 - Fill the following details and click "Save"
Step 4 – Complete the following fields of the above screen.
Field | Description |
Username | The username of the user. The user cannot make any amendments to this field. |
Current Password | The previous password which the user had created. |
New Password | The password which the user is intending to use for the system. |
Confirm New Password | Confirming the newly created password by retyping it. |
Step 5– Click 'SAVE' after completing these fields. Upon clicking 'SAVE' the new password is created.
