As workplaces become more inclusive, it is essential for HR systems to evolve and reflect the diverse realities of employees' personal lives. With the new version, OrangeHRM offers expanded marital status options in HR platforms to foster inclusivity and respect for all marital status types. By incorporating choices beyond the traditional "single" or "married" designations—such as domestic partnerships, civil unions, and de facto relationships—organizations can better accommodate the varied legal and cultural circumstances of their workforce.
Embracing these expanded options signals an organization's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion while fostering a more supportive and comprehensive HR ecosystem. In OrangeHRM to add the marital options please reach out to goldsupport@orangerm.com
The new E-signature functionality in the Employee Management module has been introduced to overcome the limitations of manual signing processes. This new feature allows employees to sign contracts and agreements electronically, directly within the system.
The manual signature collection process was time-consuming, requiring printing, mailing, and physical handling of documents. These steps introduced delays in approval workflows and often led to errors, impacting overall efficiency and productivity. With the new E-signature functionality, these challenges are eliminated by streamlining the document signing process and ensuring that all signatures are legally valid.
By allowing electronic signatures, this feature enhances the security and legality of employee contracts and agreements. The E-signature is legally binding, meeting compliance standards, and providing authenticity to signed documents. This automated process reduces the chance of errors, significantly speeding up document processing times and improving overall workflow efficiency.
Maintaining data integrity is critical when managing key HR processes such as deleting joined events and terminating employees. Recent enhancements to these functions ensure that organizations can uphold accurate, reliable records while preventing unintended data loss or discrepancies. By implementing stronger validation checks and audit trails, HR systems now provide greater control and transparency during these sensitive actions. These enhancements safeguard historical data, allowing for clearer documentation and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Improved data integrity not only minimizes the risk of errors but also strengthens overall HR system reliability, contributing to better decision-making and operational efficiency.
The following are the improvements we have incorporated in this release.
- It will not be possible to delete the only joined event of an employee.
- It will not be possible to delete a joined event if the active employment period initiated by that joined event includes data update events.
- When deleting a Joined Event of a past join, the corresponding Termination event is automatically deleted
- Upon deleting an initial join event the next Activation Event becomes a Join Event
- When the Join event related to the latest rehire is deleted, the employee's status changes to "terminated"
- It should not be possible to terminate an employee with a termination date earlier than the joined date.
- Terminating an employee should not be possible if it results in job events outside active employment periods.
- It should not be possible to activate a terminated employee with an effective date before the last termination date.
