The Discipline Module in OrangeHRM provides a structured and efficient workflow for investigators to manage disciplinary cases. Once assigned to a case, investigators can access all relevant details, document their findings, and recommend appropriate actions based on their investigation.
For HR teams, this ensures that investigations are conducted consistently, transparently, and in compliance with company policies. By having all findings and recommendations logged within the system, HR can easily review the investigation, make informed decisions, and maintain a complete audit trail. This not only reduces administrative burden but also improves accountability and ensures that disciplinary actions are fair and well-documented.
Step 01 - Access the Assigned Case. Upon logging into OrangeHRM, the investigator can navigate to the Employee Cases section to view all cases assigned to them.
For example, if Aaron Hough is assigned as the investigator, when he logs into the system, he will see the case listed in his dashboard with all relevant details.
Step 02 - When he clicks on the edit button on the record, all details related to the case will be visible. However, he cannot edit or change the original case details.
Investigators can add their findings in a structured format, documenting observations, interviews, or evidence collected during the investigation. This ensures that all critical information is captured clearly for HR review.
Step 03 - Based on the findings, the investigator can recommend one of the following actions:
Verbal Warning
Written Warning
Counseling
Final Written Warning
Probation
Administrative Leave
Suspension
Demotion
Termination
No Action Needed
These options allow the investigator to suggest the most appropriate course of action depending on the severity and nature of the incident.
Step 04 - Investigators can upload supporting documents such as evidence, reports, or interview notes. These attachments become part of the case record, creating a complete documentation trail.
Step 05 - Investigators can provide additional context, explanations, or insights in the Investigator Comments field. This helps HR understand the rationale behind the recommended action.
Step 06 - Finally, the investigator can click the Log Findings button to complete the investigation.
