Copying a weekly schedule lets you reuse an existing week's shifts in another week instead of building the roster from scratch. When you copy, the system now enforces the shift creation rules configured for each shift group and respects your role and permissions, and it gives you control over how conflicting shifts are handled, so a copied schedule stays valid and within each user's authority.
Step 1 - Navigate to Roster Module
Step 2 - In the Roster view, look for the three dots icon, located on the top-right side of the screen.
Step 3 - Click on the icon to open a dropdown menu with the following options:
- Copy: To duplicate the current week's schedule to future weeks.
- Print: To generate a printable version of the roster.
- Delete All Shifts: To remove all shifts for the currently viewed period (use with caution).
Step 4 - Once you select the Copy option, the following window will appear.
Note — Role-based behavior: The copy respects the user's role and Shift Manager permissions. A Shift Manager can only copy and create shifts within what their permissions and the shift group's creation rules allow, while administrators retain full control.
Step 5 - In the "Copy Shifts To" field, the weeks will be available from the current week to future weeks.
Step 6 - "Under Shift Groups" field, you can select which shift groups to copy. Once set, click on the "Copy" button.
Step 7 - Choose how employee assignments should be handled:
- Copy with employees assigned: recreates the shifts with the same employees assigned.
- Copy as unassigned shifts: recreates the week as a clean template of open shifts, stripping all employee assignments.
Confirm to copy. The system applies its scheduling validations and creates the shifts according to your selections.
Note — Shift creation rules are enforced: Each shift group can be configured so that Shift Managers either cannot create shifts, may create shifts with custom times, or may only create shifts From Shift Types Only. When copying, these rules are respected — if a shift group is restricted to shift types only, copied shifts must correspond to valid shift types, and the General lane is not used as a creation zone.
Step 7 - If you want to print a certain shift, select the Print option from the drop-down mentioned in Step 03.
Step 8 - Select the "Delete" option to delete all the shift groups.
Note — All visible shifts in this view will be permanently deleted and this action
cannot be undone.
