    How to use the Audit trail in OrangeHRM to Track Record Changes

    The purpose of an audit trail can be used to trace a specific event, operation, or procedure. The audit trail allows administrators to track in detail changes made to the records by the users. Numerous industries use versions of an audit trail to provide a historical record of progression based on a sequence of events. These records provide proof of compliance and operational integrity.

    You will be able to see the following information through the Audit Trail:

    • The date and time when the action took place

    • Action Owner - The employee who has made the action

    • Action - The action itself

    • Employee - Affected employee for whom the action is involved.

    • Section - Which section has the action taken place

    • Source - which can be used to track the platform for any edits or updates made to the system.

    • Performed Screen - Indicates in what screen the action took place within the system.

    • Action Description - The detailed description of the action that has taken place

     

    To see the Audit Trail, select HR Administration → Audit Trail

    The system will track changes made to the records with the date & time of the action and who has made the changes. All or selected record changes within the Admin, Employee Management, Leave, Performance, Time, Recruitment, and Maintenance modules are audited and tracked.

     

    Search / Filter / Export the Audit Trail

    Step 1 – Click the "Filter" button on the top right corner of the screen. The Filter Screen will appear.

     

    Step 2 – Use the following filter criteria to find what you require.

    Select the action that took place, used for any edits or updates to the system

    • API - Integration
    • Mobile
    • Not Tracked
    • System Task
    • Upgrader
    • Web
    Affected EmployeeSearch for the employee affected by the action
    Performed ScreenSelect on which screen the action occurred in the system
    Action OwnerSearch can be performed based on username or employee name (first, last, and middle name).

     

    How to set up filters to acquire information

    Once the module is selected, if you need to narrow down the results anymore, pick the precise action from the section drop-down menu; otherwise, choose "All." The following are two tables that explain you how to use the Audit Trail.
