Beyond building and publishing a standard application, App Builder includes a few extra tasks that help you reuse your work and get more from your data: copying and deleting forms, creating Master Data forms for reference lists, and reporting on the records people submit. This article covers each one.
Copy a form
Step 1 - Click the three-dot menu ( ⋮ ) next to a form and select Copy. The new form includes the original fields, workflow, and document templates.
Delete a form
Step 1 - Click the three-dot menu ( ⋮ ) next to a form and select Delete.
Note: Both published and unpublished forms can be deleted.
Create a Master Data form
A Master Data form stores reference data — for example, course codes — that other forms in the same app can pull in using a Lookup Field. Because no employee "owns" this reference data, you set the form up slightly differently from a normal form.
Step 1 - Remove the Record Owner field from the form.
Step 2 - In the workflow, remove the Owner role from every step and action, and assign an appropriate role instead (such as Global Admin or a default Supervisor).
Step 3 - When publishing, disable the My Record List so employees cannot submit to it.
Note: Removing the Record Owner field alone is not enough. If the Owner role remains on any action linked to the Initial step, adding a record will fail. Be sure to remove the Owner role from the workflow as well.
