As the manager evaluator you answer the questions about the employee's performance for the review period. The employee completes their self-evaluation separately, and the two evaluations are only shown side by side once both are submitted — so your assessment isn't influenced by theirs.
Step-by-Step Procedure
- Open the Performance Reviews tab and select the employee. The review needing attention soonest is selected for you.
- While your evaluation is unsubmitted, your section — headed Your Evaluation (As Manager) — fills the width of the screen. Above it, a compact Self Evaluation card shows the employee's status with a lock icon.
- Answer each question, using the comment box or the 1 to 5 rating.
- Click Save and Finish Later to keep your answers, or Submit when you are done.
- Once you have both submitted, reload the page and the two evaluations appear side by side — Your Evaluation on the left, Manager Evaluation on the right, both marked Completed. Each panel has an expand control if you want one of them full width.
Notes & Important Behaviour
- Work independently of the employee. You can complete your evaluation whether or not they have started theirs.
- Their answers stay hidden until you submit. Before you submit, the card reads "The employee's self-evaluation will be visible after you submit your manager evaluation". Afterwards, if they haven't finished, it reads "The employee's self-evaluation is not yet complete".
- The layout is set when the page loads. If the employee submits while you have the page open, refresh to see the side-by-side view.
- Submitting is final. Your evaluation becomes read-only.
Role-Based Access
Only the assigned manager evaluator can answer and submit the manager evaluation. A Head of Department can read submitted evaluations for employees in their subunit and its child subunits. An Admin can view reviews within their administrative scope, and sees evaluation content only once it has been submitted.
