An appraisal cycle lets you create appraisals for a group of employees in one action, instead of creating each appraisal individually. You select the employees to include, choose the appraisal template and evaluators, and the system creates an appraisal for every selected employee.
Launching an Appraisal Cycle
Step 1 - Go to Performance > Appraisals > Appraisal Cycles.
Step 2 - Click the "Create Appraisal Cycle" button to launch a new cycle, then complete the cycle details and select the appraisal template to use.
Selecting the Employees to Include
Use the filters to narrow the employee list down to the group you want to review, then select the employees to add to the cycle.
| Filter | Description |
| Employee Name or Id | Search for a specific employee by name or employee ID. |
| Job Title | Filter employees by one or more job titles. |
| Employment Status | Filter employees by one or more employment statuses. |
| Sub Unit | Filter employees by one or more sub units. |
| Location | Filter employees by one or more locations. |
| Joined Date | Filter employees by the date they joined the organisation. You can specify a date range to target a specific intake, or filter for employees whose joined date has not been set. |
| Include | Include current employees, current and past employees, or past employees only. |
Filtering by Joined Date
Filtering by Joined Date makes it straightforward to target a cohort of employees who joined within a given period — for example, everyone who joined in a particular quarter, or all employees hired before a cut-off date. This removes the need to identify and select those employees one by one.
Selecting More Than One Hundred Employees
More than one hundred employees can be selected for a single appraisal cycle. Large, organisation-wide review cycles can therefore be run as one cycle, rather than being split into several smaller cycles and reconciled afterwards.
Once you have applied your filters, you can select all matching employees across every page of results, rather than selecting them page by page.
Step 3 - Review the selected employees, then click Save to create the appraisals.
Note: If the appraisal template uses Automatic Calculation for the final rating, every selected employee must have the evaluator required by your Final Rating Source (for example, a Main Evaluator or Supervisor). The system will list any employees who do not, so you can resolve them before the cycle is created.
