Yes. The candidate's resume (CV) is attached to a recruitment notification only when the email template contains the %CandidateResume% token. Remove that token from the template and the notification is sent without the attachment. Everything else in the email stays the same.
How it works
Recruitment notifications are built from email templates. Most tokens in a template, such as %CandidateFirstName% or %VacancyName%, are replaced with text. The %CandidateResume% token works differently: it doesn't appear in the email at all. Instead, it tells the system to attach the resume saved on the candidate's profile.
- By default, this token is included in the Candidate Assigned to Vacancy notification sent to the Hiring Manager and the Event Manager. That's why those emails arrive with the CV attached.
- The acknowledgment email sent to the candidate does not include the token, so candidates never receive their own resume back.
- If a candidate has no resume on their profile, the email is sent without an attachment even when the token is present.
How to stop the CV from being attached
- Go to HR Administration > Configuration > Email Notifications.
- Find the Candidate Assigned to Vacancy notification and click its icon to open the subscriber list.
- Open the subscriber whose email you want to change, for example the Hiring Manager or Event Manager role. Clear Hide Workflow Action Scenarios so the email template settings are shown.
- In the template body, delete %CandidateResume%. By default it is at the very end, after "This is an automated notification."
- Click Save.
From then on, that notification is sent without the resume. Recipients can still open the CV from the candidate's profile using the click here link in the email.
Things to note
- Each subscriber can have its own template. Remove the token from every template where you don't want the CV attached.
- To attach the CV again later, add %CandidateResume% back into the template body.
- Only users with access to Email Notifications, usually HR Administrators, can edit notification templates.
- Emails you send manually from the candidate profile's Attachments section are not affected by this setting.
