If you set Select Main Evaluator By to Supervisor with Reporting Method, each employee needs a supervisor to act as their Main Evaluator. An appraisal cannot be created while any employee in the cycle has no Main Evaluator. In a large cycle, you can find these employees and fix them in bulk instead of checking the list page by page.
- Add the employees to the cycle. Any employee whose Main Evaluator could not be found is highlighted in red.
- In the Cycle Details panel, find the Employees without proper evaluators button. The number on the button shows how many employees have no evaluator.
- Click Employees without proper evaluators. The list now shows only those employees, across all pages, and the count line reads "(N) employees without an evaluator · [total] total in cycle".
- Click the same button again whenever you want to return to the full employee list.
To remove employees from the cycle
- Tick the checkbox beside each employee, or tick the header checkbox to select them all. A Remove Selected action appears next to the count line.
- Click Remove Selected.
- Confirm when prompted. The employees are removed and you stay on the same view, instead of being sent back to the first page. A message shows how many employees were removed.
To assign a Main Evaluator instead
- Select the employees as above.
- Click Assign Evaluator. A required Main Evaluator field and a Save button appear.
- Start typing a name in the Main Evaluator field and choose the person from the list as it narrows.
- Click Save. The person becomes the Main Evaluator for every selected employee and is added to their Evaluators. The red highlight is removed and the count on the button goes down.
Note: Assign Evaluator appears only when every selected employee has no evaluator. If your selection includes anyone who already has a Main Evaluator, you will see Remove Selected only.
Note: When you fix or remove the last employee, the button shows 0 but the screen stays on the filtered list. Click Employees without proper evaluators to go back to the full list.
Step 3 - Review the selected employees, then click Save to create the appraisals.

Note: If the appraisal template uses Automatic Calculation for the final rating, every selected employee must have the evaluator required by your Final Rating Source (for example, a Main Evaluator or Supervisor). The system will list any employees who do not, so you can resolve them before the cycle is created.
