Competency Profiling is typically a method for identifying specified skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behavior necessary to fulfilling a task, activity, or career. In most organizations, it’s the ultimate purpose is to identify what are the relevant competencies for an organization.
In categorizing competencies, some organizations make distinctions between competencies, which refer to desired personal attributes and behaviors and competencies, which are the knowledge and skill required to bring about improved performance.
In the modern HR environment, many organizations are turning to build competency profiles for their jobs in a fraction of the time. To make your life easy OrangeHRM has introduced competency profiles and this will be the base for upcoming talent management related improvements.
Go to Performance -> Competency Profile
Create competency Profile
Step 1- Click " Add " Button. Select the job title and after that select the suitable subunits.
Step 2- Click "Done". After that click "Next"
Step 3- Select suitable competencies by clicking the "Add Competencies" button.
The users can select multiple competencies at once on the same screen.
Step 4 - Click " Add Selected"
If the user wants to delete a competency, the user can hover over the competency and click the delete option.
If the user wants to increase the weight for competencies, by clicking the 'Increase' and 'Decrease' icons that can be done. By giving the proper ratings for the competencies the proficiency level gets mapped as shown in the screen below.
On the same screen if the user wants to change the subunit that is selected or to select new subunits for the profile that can be done by clicking the down arrow icon below the job title.
Users can also copy the same competencies to the different job titles other than adding the competencies one by one. For example, if two QA engineers working under two different teams might have different competencies. So in that case, when creating the competency profile user can copy the same and go to the competency profile of the other QA enginerr and adjust the competencies.
