Login URL configurability
Now it is possible to scan a QR code to configure the instance URL on your Mobile device without manually entering the URL on the screen. By pointing your mobile device camera towards a QR, the camera will close upon successful detection of the QR code and will begin processing the code. The user is then directed to the OrangeHRM Login Page or can select the relevant authentication method page if SSO is enabled.
Login screen password visibility
On the Login Screen page, there is an icon next to the password field to facilitate toggling between two states, “Password Shown” and “Password Hidden”. When entering the password you can tap on the “Password Shown” option to verify that the entered password is correct before proceeding to login.
PIM Module Support
Now it is possible to view your personal information, such as the personal details, job details, contact details, and emergency contact details via a mobile application under the ‘My Info’ tab. Additionally, if you are an admin or a supervisor user with access to view the employee list, you can view and update employee personal, job, contact and emergency contact details via the Mobile application. Should you wish to directly contact an employee or a subordinate in an emergency situation, the system provides the ability to reach them via SMS, call or email from their employee profile. These newly incorporated direct contact options within the Orangehrm mobile application offer a quick and effective way to immediately get in touch with a user if required.
Also, newly introduced filter fields are now present to further improve the search options available when searching for employees in the employee list.
Home Screen enhancements
Now it is possible to access the Home dashboard widget present in the OrangeHRM web application from your mobile device. As per the configuration set up by the admin, a user can simply access the dashboard widgets and enable or disable the widgets as they wish. It is also possible to rearrange the order in which the widgets appear by ‘dragging and dropping them as per your preference. New Widgets now available are as follows:
- Time at Work displaying recent punch in/out activity
- Leave Usage showing users current leave usage information
- Employees on Leave offering the ability to show leave of all employees or only those reporting to you
- News presenting the most recent News posts
Attendance additions (if licensed)
The following useful capabilities are now accommodated in the mobile application attendance module. Now, it is possible to track the current location of a user and also capture a ‘selfie’ when punching In/Out of the system.
